Ministry’s new album “Cover Up” and CULaTour

It makes me shed a little tear when I know that the upcoming release from Ministry “Cover Up” will be their last. After their latest album “Last Sucker” was suposed to be the last album, they had to drop just one more. Also I’m looking forward to the last tour ever of one of my all time favorite bands this summer, the “CULaTour.”

The new album “Cover Up” is best put in Uncle Al’s words:
“We don’t just bitch about Bush and global oligarchies. We’re still a rock band and ‘Cover Up’ is THE Ministry party album”
Cover up is a line up of 70’s rocks songs covered by Ministry with a few guest appearances with a release date on April Fools day. I’ve listened to the whole album and “party album” is a good way to put it. The crazy thing is most of these tracks are 70’s rock tracks and if you remember the Lard album titled, “70’s rock must die” leaves you wondering if most of these songs are somewhat a joking take on them. The album has the heavy Ministry sound you would expect but is definitely worth a listen or two. My favorite track is the remake of T-Rex’s “Bang A Gong.” At one point your hear someone say “What the fuck does bang a gong mean?” which made me laugh hysterically, what the fuck does that mean?
The album release date is also the day the CULaTour is set to start rolling. CULaTour will have special guests Meshuggah and Hemlock. If you haven’t seen Ministry live, this will be your last chance! I’m planning on going to the last show 05/09 at the House of Blues Chicago, IL. Might be getting a VIP ticket so anyone that wants to go with me, shoot me a line.
